Mo’s for Prostate Cancer Awareness VICTORIA — Everywhere you turn this month, you’d be hard pressed not to see a man growing a moustache. Most of the facial hair is meant to grow awareness about Prostate Cancer, and the importance of getting a regular exam. Last year and estimated 780 men were diagnosed with Prostate Cancer on Vancouver Island and 112 men died of the disease. Money from the Movember campaign goes to a National organization that spreads the money out to do research. The Prostate Centre in Victoria has its own similar campaign, aimed at keeping money on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. It’s called the Hair Affair.
